So called because if you swing the gate shut behind you then the gate automtically engages the catch and stays shut and as such tends to work well with a gate spring.
Commonly found on smaller/shorter garden gates, as to open the gate you do need access to the side of the gate it is fitted to – not so useful on taller gates when you have to reach over to unlatch and open!
Comprises of a latch/receiver that is usually fitted to the gate post and a striker pin that fits to the gates, the auto gate latch is fitted quite quickly as only needs screwing to the gate and post.
The auto gate catch can also be used as a very simple method of locking your gate, simply add a small padlock (not supplied) to the hole directly above the mouth of the latch.
Available in a 50mm medium duty and 57mm heavy duty and in a black, galvanised and marine grade stainless steel finish.
Sizing refers to width of the main body of the latch.
* Stainless steel auto gate catch is only available in a medium duty and comes as standard with fixings.
Fixings (screws) for the black and galvanised latches are available as an optional extra.
