A heavy duty adjustable hook and band gate hinge used on timber gates, side hinged garage doors and external doors.
Adjustable gate hinges are an ideal choice for a DIY gate or garage door installation as unlike cranked band and gudgeon hinges they give you the ability to level/manoeuvre the gates or doors after hanging so you can fit your gates level and true like a pro!
Fitting hinges to a gate is explained in our Gate Fitting Guide.
Available in a choice of Black powder coated, hot spelter galvanised, black on galvanised and marine grade stainless steel finishes.
What size adjustable hinges? –
For normal domestic use hinge should be 1/3 width of each gate (or nearest size up)
i.e. Gate/door width of 1000mm wide would require a 334mm long hinge, so you’d use a 350mm long pair ofadjustable hook and band hinge for normal domestic use.
For heavy duty domestic use (or industrial use) then the adjustable hinges should be 1/2 the width of each gate
i.e. gate/door width of 1000mm wide would require 500mm long hinges, so you’d use a 600mm long pair of adjustable gate hinges.
What finish for adjustable hook and band hinges? –
We have the standard range of both the black and hot spleter galvanised versions of the adjustable hinges. We are also able to offer a Gatemate version of Black on galvanised (Premium black) giving double protection.
For harsh enviroments (and use on acidic timbers such as Oak and Accoya) we also offer Marine Grade Stainless Steel (Grade 316/A4), this gives exceptional corrision resitance
