Cane bolts are a light duty gate or door bolt used as an alternative to a dropbolt on lightweight gates or external doors.
Unlike a dropbolt, the cane bolt doesn’t have a receiver to the bolt clear of the floor as the gates are opened. Instead the two keeps/backplates (that fit to the gate) have notches cut into them and the cane bolt itself has a slight rounded protrusion around half way up the bolt.
The notch in the top receiver is used to keep the cane bolt from fouling on the ground – as you lift the bolt you need to slide the protrusion through the notch and turn so it cannot fall through.
The notch on the bottom keep/backplate stops the cane bolt from being removed.
Available in a black powder coated finish and hot spleter galvanised finish.
Supplied with all fixings (screws) and tubular receiver.
